We collect as little as we can. This page explains what we keep, why, and who helps us run Playnest.
What we collect
Your email address and password (stored hashed, never in plain text), your name and handle, your profile picture and bio, what you post and message, files you upload, and basic technical information such as your language and theme choice and the time of your requests. We do not collect ID documents, phone numbers or biometric data.
Why we use it
To run your account, show your posts, deliver messages, translate content, protect the site from abuse and keep it working.
Who helps us
We use trusted services to run Playnest: Vercel (website hosting), Turso (database), Render and MongoDB (chat), Cloudinary (video), Stripe (donations; we never see your card details), and AI model providers (Groq and SiliconFlow) which receive the text of a post or message only when it is translated or when you talk to an AI host or Leo. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
Cookies and storage
We use one session cookie to keep you logged in, and your browser's storage for your language and theme. See the Cookies page.
How long we keep it
Until you ask us to delete your account, or the account is closed. Deleted messages and posts are removed from the live service; backups may keep them for a short time.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you also have the rights set out in the GDPR, including the right to complain to your data protection authority.
To reach us, send a message to @z3ro on Playnest.
Children
Playnest is not for children under 13. Younger teenagers need a parent's permission. We keep strong default safety settings and do not allow advertising aimed at minors.
